Martine in Denmark

Hello everyone,

I have been neglecting my weblog horribly, but here is a new update.

Live is still good in Denmark, and after the last busy weeks things have finally settled down again. For the people who don't know it, Morten and I have moved to Denmark permanently, because Morten got accepted at the university in Kopenhagen to study Film and media sciences.

For the time being we have stored all our things at Mortens parents, where we can use the first floor. Our little cat is also staying with them.
Morten is searching for a place to live in Kopenhagen and staying with friends untill that. I am still living in Århus, where I will stay untill I have finished my internship. After that I will also move to Kopenhagen.

Here finally the weather has changed for the better as well, so everything looks a little friendlier.
I am still following my Danish classes every monday and wednesday evening, and on tuesday evening I now give a 15 year old girl English lessons. This way I earn a little extra money.
Last week I had my first Danish test, which I passed. I thought it would be a piece of cake for everyone, but I found out that I am actually one of the few in my class who passed it. So now I am a little extra proud of myself.
I also met a Dutch guy at the languageschool. He moved to Denmark to be with his Danish girlfriend and is also learning Danish. It is nice to talk Dutch once in a while and share experiences.

It is a little strange to know that I now really moved to Denmark. I received this big envelop from the Dutch taxes with all kind of questions regarding my stay in Denmark, and if I want to keep on building my retirement allowance (AOW). Very weird, I have really emigrated to another country now. The next time I go to Holland I have no room to return to, and all my things are here in Denmark.

At the moment I am at work. I am compressing a mediafile for dvd, so not much to do but wait untill it is finished. It still takes about an hour.

I will try to post a little more often at my weblog, but for now at least you know where I stand.

Hug, Martine.
